The final day of the three -day conference tour and the last stop was Brno. The teachers were great and made the afternoon a lot of fun :-) Here I am mid presentation with eyes closed and face in default position.

After a lovely afternoon spent presenting in Olomouc it was back to Brno. On the way home I popped into the supermarket and discovered that I am a tin of peaches.

Today was day one of a three day conference 'tour' and the first stop was Ostrava. As soon as the conference finished we were whisked away to Olomouc, our destination for day two. The weather had been inclement all day so the early evening drizzle came as no surprise. However, the rainbow that I saw as I looked up was a lovely surprise (if you look really hard you can just see it in the sky).

Today's picture is of a surprise gift I received. I decided to spend the day in the library in order to prepare for the coming week of conferences. During a little break I allowed myself, I wondered to the coffee machine where I was handed a dandelion and a picture of a dandelion by a passing three year old who had obviously also spent the morning working :-) I have no idea why she chose to shower me with gifts, but it added the little bit of sunshine to my day that I was missing.

I think I've found the university library's newest security guard. Day or night, rain or shine, he's outside the library sprawled on the pathway blocking the way for the students. I normally have to step over him to get anywhere, and he doesn't usually bat an eyelid - some security guard, eh. But today I was honoured with a passing glance, which I managed to catch on camera.

WW3 nearly started in the classroom today. All I said was "I'll have a piece of the kilo of ham you've brought to the lesson a bit later" and all hell broke loose. Talk about illocutionary force wreaking havoc, my comment was in no way meant to be an attack on Czech cuisine. The next thing I knew the name of English cuisine was being dragged through the mud, I'd been asked to name at least five well known British chefs, and I'd been badgered into making an English pie (whatever that is) for our next lesson. Unbelievable.

Today was the first day in a long time when I did nothing work related. Instead a 16km walk round the Brno dam was what I did. On the way I noticed this delightful shop window, all dressed and ready for Easter.

Today was the Park ELT conference in Brno. After a morning of presenting, I was able to sit back and watch some of the sessions. I particularly enjoyed the session on how to use one laptop in the classroom.

Today was a good day. Not only was it the beginning of a new month, the day before one of Brno's biggest ELT conferences. - thank you Radim for the pre-conference dinner invite :-) - but it was also the sunniest day of the year to date. Check out that blue sky!
